TREATMENTS

Osteopathy

Osteopathy is the treatment of the body as a whole. We have an holistic approach in treatment and not just focusing on the site of pain. The body is linked and we aim to use one part of the body to improve the other so it can eventually start working together as one unit reducing reoccurring injury.

Some Conditions Treatment can help to improve and manage:

- Osteoarthritis
- Back and Neck pain
- Headaches
- Ankylosing Spondylitis
- Frozen Shoulder
- Sports injury
- Pregnancy related injury
- Constipation (Visceral  Osteopathy)
- Chronic and Acute conditions

Osteopathic treatment involve a variety of techniques such as massage, joint mobilisations, stretching and ma include acupuncture if needed.

For Structural Osteopathy, In the treatment for chronic and acute pain, where the osteopath will use manual techniques to affect the musculoskeletal system: joints are moved, muscles are stretched and in so doing the treatment effect can reach into the body and help the nervous system, blood supply or organ function.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Infra-red
Pressotherapy

Poor circulation and poor lymph flow can lead to fatigued muscles, build up of lactic acid in the body and increase in infections.

Lymphatic drainage can be carried out Manually by hand. Depending on the individual and condition, we can provide stand alone treatments or carry out both Manual lymphatic drainage and pressotherapy in a treatment session.

Pressotherapy is a non-invasive medical treatment that promotes lymphatic drainage.
It is similar to Manual Lymphatic Drainage but rather than carried out by hand, pressure is applied with a specialised computer controlled device therefore treating the whole body in turn simultaneously in one session.

Lymphatic Drainage helps to reduce swelling, relax the muscles, reduces muscle fatigue, pain and cramping, stimulates the immune system and helps with digestive problems.

There is considerable evidence to suggest that  infra-red is extremely effective in supporting the lymphatic system as it allows your body to remove toxins through the skin in sweat.
This is especially beneficial for those involved in regular sporting activities, pre and post surgery, weight loss, cellulite, constipation and bloating.

Multiple regular sessions provide ultimate results.

Medical Acupunture

The use of medical acupuncture in treatment has been known to reduce local and diffuse pain. It significantly reduces the appearance of trigger points in the point, breaks down adhesion in muscles, increase blood flow to the site and therefore speeding up recovery time. Medical acupuncture is becoming more popular in the therapeutic industries, it has been known to have an immediate improvement in a high percentage of patients that visit the clinic.

Fine sterile needles are carefully inserted into the body and may be combined with other techniques. The length at which the needle is left in is determined by the condition and injury of the individual and condition. To fully benefit from this treatment, a course of weekly treatment session will be beneficial dependent on the cause of pain.

Pre and Postnatal Care

The body goes through so much during pregnancy and continues to change after child birth. Full recovery from childbirth can take months and most women don't feel Like themselves again till approximately 18 months! That's a long time.

During pregnancy, your center of gravity changes of course. Your core strength diminishes, making you prone to lower back pain and for those breastfeeding, upper back pain can be added to the list of discomfort. This is very common but does not mean it is here to stay.

At body Language, the osteopath will give you a full consultation discussing with you your individual concerns and pain, treat you accordingly to release tension and keep you aligned making sure you are safe to start exercising and then connect you with our partners of qualified personal trainers who specialise in postpartum recovery so you can get yourself back and be strong for you and your baby.
